Free to Breathe
“May we all breathe in this day with the intention of making a difference.”
I LOVE when our amazing community comes together, especially when it’s to support a worthy, important cause! There’s so much going on in the world, sometimes it can be overwhelming. So much negativity, it often feels like you can’t make a difference. But YOU CAN. It was once again proven to me today at the Free to Breathe Yogathon!
It’s the second year I’ve been involved in this event and it’s been incredible. Yogis from all over come together to support lung cancer patients, survivors, family members and more.
The yogathon itself is a day full of yoga fun – eight (yes, eight) hours of yoga are put on by some of the best instructors in the area for whoever wants to participate. Teams and individuals raise money to support lung cancer research. This year, the fundraiser has raised more than $75,000!!! (And donations are still coming in!)
I was so thrilled to join many local businesses that were there to support the cause! Yoga was led by instructors from M. Power, Yogaworks, Yoga Tree, Lean Life Revolution, University of Maryland School of Medicine Center for Integrative Health, Yoga Centric & Studio B. Delicious treat were served by Gundalow Juice, Bmore Organic, Charm City & Bottoms Up Bagels. We had fun photos with Pixilated, and so much more! Also had so much fun with Bohofaux getting my hair braided!
Kudos to the amazing team who put on today’s event! It was fantastic and you are doing such wonderful things. I’m so proud and happy for the entire team!
